Pike District Partnership Formed in North Bethesda, Maryland

Non-profit receives $300,000 from Montgomery County’s Emerging
Business District grant program to create a vibrant community that supports
local businesses and highlights the economic development potential of North Bethesda

North Bethesda, MD (January 31, 2023) – Marking the advancement and positioning of North Bethesda’s Pike District, The Friends of White Flint (FoWF) non-profit advocacy organization and the White Flint Downtown Advisory Committee (WFDAC) are coming together to create the Pike District Partnership, a non-profit organization.

The new organization will continue the mission of FOWF and WFDAC to support North Bethesda, Montgomery County’s newest economic core bringing together the business, entertainment, and residential components of a dynamic, mixed-use urban center.

“This is an exciting time for North Bethesda, and I truly believe that the Pike District Partnership will be a valuable partner with residents and the County to support local businesses, maintain the vibrancy of the community and identify opportunities to execute on the vision for this dynamic submarket,” said Matthew Herrmann, chairman of the PDP Interim Board of Directors.

Located just outside Washington, DC in Montgomery County, MD, the Pike District is the core of North Bethesda. With Pike & Rose at the core along with recent roadway improvements, this area is quickly becoming a sustainable and walkable community with a mix of local and regional businesses and a variety of housing and transportation options with entertainment, recreation, shopping, and dining amenities.

The PDP recently received $300,000 from Montgomery County’s Emerging Business District grant program for Fiscal Year 2023.  That funding, along with other support, will help to bolster the new non-profit to continue executing on a vigorous marketing plan that includes business promotions, community events and placemaking and continue to focus on important issues that impact the community such as pedestrian safety and smart development, ensuring that the 2010 White Flint Sector plan stays true to its vision.

Driven by the core values of celebrating diversity, encouraging innovation, fostering entertainment, building community, and providing accessible transportation options, the PDP will focus on highlighting the vibrancy and economic development potential of the North Bethesda area.

“The Pike District Partnership is an exciting outgrowth of the Friends of White Flint and its successful advocacy for the White Flint/Pike District/North Bethesda community.  Residents, businesses, and property owners will continue to work together to build on our many achievements improving pedestrian safety and making our community the best it can be for all of us,” Amy Ginsburg, former Executive Director of FoWF, said.
