In January 2017, Marriott International formally announced its intent to move the company’s corporate headquarters to downtown Bethesda. Nearly one year later in December, it finally became official as the project’s Development Team (The Bernstein Companies and Boston Properties) won unanimous approval from the Montgomery County Planning Board to build the company’s state-of-the-art headquarters and brand new 238-room flagship Marriott Hotel in downtown Bethesda.

To learn more, you can read the official statement from the Montgomery County Planning Board, or check out the coverage in Bethesda Magazine. To learn more about Marriott’s new headquarters and the new flagship Marriott hotel being constructed next door, visit MHQBethesda.com.

Since 2016, Maier & Warner has supported Marriott International’s relocation of its corporate headquarters to downtown Bethesda with a comprehensive set of services including messaging, public affairs, media relations, community outreach web development, email newsletters and more. The journey ahead is long, with groundbreaking this summer, and the project’s completion not until 2022. We are so proud to be working with such a stellar team of professionals at Marriott and honored to be part of an exciting project that will have great impact on the place we love to call home.
