The JBG Companies broke ground last week on the VY, a 385-unit upscale apartment community with 89,000 square feet of retail.
We’re happy to say that the event went off without a hitch, from the guest list to the speeches to the food and the photo-op. And it’s always great to know the community has learned more about what’s happening in their neighborhood.
VY is the next phase of JBG’s Reston Heights district, named for its elevation which afford expansive views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
In working on the press release announcing the VY, JBG Principal Greg Trimmer told us that VY will be an active destination with public spaces designed to encourage socializing, including a plaza lined with outdoor dining and a pavilion for outdoor events. He also said VY will be a transit-oriented community, located just a half-mile from the future Reston Town Center Metro station.
